7 - 9 pm Wednesday 17th November in the Federation Room, Havelock House, corner of Gould Street and Northbourn Avenue, Turner.
What to bring:
A mind open to the enormous possibilities of what your once adored pieces or bad decision can become.
+At least one item of quality clothing to remake(bring up to five items!). We suggest you choose garments with good detailing, natural fibres-linen, cotton, silk fabics with great potential eg: a jacket may be turned upside down and back to front, to become a great apron......
+Also bring your sewing kit, scissors, needles and thread, tape measure, quick unpick or snips are helpful for undoing seams. We can help you out with some of these items for your 1st workshop if you don’t have your own. We will also have kits available for you to order.
What to expect:
The Project Remake team will share our textile skills, eye for design and love of quality fashion with you. We’ll work with you to design an item from your unused/underused clothes, you do not need to have great sewing skills- we will show you simple techniques. The object is to create garments that you’ll wear and love for a long, long time. You’ll also learn from each other!
This might be a one off workshop for you, or you may choose to come back for weekly or fortnightly workshops. We recomend that you sign up for a series of classes in order to complete each garment.
Maximum of 10 participants per workshop.
