Shunyam Smith and Cheryl Davison at Ivy Hill Gallery


EXHIBITING FROM 1 APRIL TO 2 MAY 2011

Far South Coast artist Cheryl Davison paints a visual recored of the stories told to her by the tribal elders of her family, the Walbunga people of Moruya and the Ngarigo people of the Monaro. With attention to fine detail, she mixes techniques to produce exceptional artworks in acrylic and gouache.
Shunyam Smith finds different layes of meanings and memories entwined with the physicality of the material and the slow nature of tapestry weaving. Her work is an exploration of the essence of place, the environment and particularly the nature of change Shunyam Smith is a graduate from ANU Textiles.
