New Shows at Craft ACT





Elements: clay and Canberra Potters' Society Award

Elements: clay
Celebrating Craft ACT: Craft and Design Centre's membership of leading craft practitioners and designer makers. The third in the Elements series, Elements: clay will expose the diverse practice and processes artists employ in exploring clay. Showcasing invited artists Greg Daly, Janet DeBoos, Patsy Hely, Bev Hogg, Ian Jones, Anita McIntyre, Gail Nichols, Kaye Pemberton, Joanne Searle, Jaishree Srinivasan, Hiroe Swen and Alan Watt.

Elements: Fibre
The fourth exhibition in the Elements series, Elements:fibre highlights the possibilities of textile and fibre medium and features work by leading craft practitioners, designers and makers. Elements: fibre presents work by invited artists Keiko Amenomori-Schmeisser, Valerie Kirk, Sharon Peoples, Belinda Ramson, Jennifer Robertson, Barbara Rogers, Fay Skyring, Annie Trevillian and Monique van Nieuwland.

Garlands of string   
Kay Lawrence Gallery In this exhibition the two bodies of work, a garland for a friend and your heart's desire, signify a form of relational art practice mapping the web of connection between friends, and the unfulfilled longings that comprise our innermost desires. Both bodies of work are made from handmade silk string and mother-of-pearl buttons. Your heart's desire also includes a set of four artist's books comprising 1000 pages.
